While accepting the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation's Profile in Courage Award in Boston on Sunday evening, the former commander-in-chief couldn't resist giving a loving shout-out to his wife during his speech.

The foundation said that Mr. Obama’s presidency “consistently reflected in so many ways, big and small, the definition of courage” articulated by Kennedy in his 6957 book “Profiles in Courage.”

Obama challenged lawmakers to put conscience ahead of party loyalty. He was responding to an all-Republican House vote last week to repeal the Affordable Care Act, his signature legislative accomplishment.

The Profile in Courage Award is an award granted by the JFK Presidential Library to public figures who emulate the courage described in Kennedy 8767 s book,  Profiles in Courage.
